Grace Webb Obituary

Grace Webb, age 74, of Fairborn passed away on March 3, 2023, in the presence of her husband at Hospice of Dayton. Grace was born April 23, 1948, in Trinidad, West Indies to the late Andrew Lall and Pearl (Bissondath) Lall. She helped raise her siblings, whom she loved dearly.

She took the brave step to travel to England, without a winter coat, at the age of 19 to become a nurse, as part of the Windrush Generation. She was a registered nurse, a midwife, and then worked in intensive care. Grace met the love of her life, Herman, in England and they married in 1972. Her husband’s various military assignments with the U. S. Air Force took them to Georgia, Panama, Arizona, back to England, and, finally, to Ohio. She raised her girls, Samantha and Jennifer, with care and protectiveness. Along the way, she met dear friends throughout their travels.

Grace worked for the Army and Air Force Exchange Services (AAFES) and retired after 28 years. As a marching band parent, Grace cheered on her daughters and made friends. She was always delighted to hear of the joys and successes of her family, friends, and Fairborn band kids. As a grandparent, she took great pleasure in doting on her granddaughter, Josie. They spent many days and weekend-sleepovers together.

She was preceded in death by her big brother, Mel (Merlin) Lall, and brother-in-law, Ambrose Ramsahai. She will be missed dearly by her husband, Herman Webb; her daughters, Samantha Webb; Jennifer Lobo; son-in-law, David Lobo; granddaughter, Josie Lobo; siblings, Mervin Lall; Phoebe Mahadeosingh; Morrison Lall; June Lall; Merrick Lall; siblings’ spouses, Mona; Betty; Boysie; Joyce; and Irma; brother-in-law, Michael Webb; and her nieces, nephews, Michael; Shaun; Kurt; Rohan; Joel; Rina; Nicole; Rayel; Christian; Kelsey; in addition to numerous extended family, friends, and co-workers.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, March 11, 2023, at 12:00 P.M. at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn. The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service, Pastor Eric Meade officiating.
