James Trent Finley

FINLEY, JAMES TRENT passed away on Sunday, December 19, 2021 at Miami Valley Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.  Trent was born at Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton, Ohio on August 25, 1972, and was the only child of James A. and F. Sue Puckett Finley.

Trent is survived by his loving wife, Angela Brewer Finley of New Carlisle, OH, his son, James Austen Finley of Vincennes, IN, his mother, F. Sue Finley of Fairborn, Ohio, a stepdaughter, Michelle (Jason) Pearson, a stepdaughter, Lezly (Andrew Yingling) Stegall, a stepson, Blane Stegall, and two step-granddaughters, Oaklynn Pearson and Ayla Yingling, whom he adored with all his heart, cousin Jimmy Baker who was like a brother to him, and numerous other family members and friends.

Trent was preceded in death by his father, James A. Finley, in 2013, his maternal grandparents, Tollie (2002) and Mary Belle Cox Puckett (1987), and his paternal grandparents, James A. Finley, Sr. (1968), Esther L. Knapp Thomas (2002), a step-grandfather Frank C. Thomas (1999), his Aunt DeeDee (2014), and his Uncle Big John (2016).

Trent and his wife, Angie were devoted animal lovers and the owners of three dogs named Jack, Charlie and Leo, all of whom will miss their daddy!  Trent was dearly loved by family and many, many friends and his wonderful smile will be missed by all.

The family will receive visitors at Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, Fairborn, Ohio on December 28, 2021 from 4-6 PM, with a short service following at 6 PM with Pastor Buck Smith officiating.  Burial will take place privately at Byron Cemetery at a later date.
