James E. Stockert

James Edward Stockert, age 75 went home to be with the Lord on June 12, 2021.  He was born in Canton, Ohio on July 22, 1945.  Jim is survived by his wife of 30 years, Maggie; eight children, Jimmie Stockert, Desiree Carver, Babette Page, Jimmy Howard, Barbara Green, Brenda Sullivan, Jerry Howard, and Tina Howard; two sisters, Paula Stockert and Patricia Lash; special friends, Dustin Howard and Duane Blair.  James served 4 years in the U.S. Navy and transferred to the U.S. Air Force, retiring from Wright-Patterson AFb in 1989 at the rank of MSgt., after 22 years of combined service.   He loved his grandchildren, sitting on the porch watching the sun come up and taking walks in the park.  He served our Lord for 35 years as a strong Christian man.  He is loved and will be missed by all that knew him. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday June 16, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, Pastors Mark Long and Pat Morris officiating.  The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until the time of service.  Burial with military honors will follow at Byron cemetery.
