Linda May Turinetti, age 78 of Fairborn, passed away Wednesday May 3, 2023 at the Friends Care Community. She was born March 24, 1945 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of the late Alfred and Virginia (Janke) Steinke.
Linda was a graduate of Luther North High School in Chicago and was a proud lifelong supporter of the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod, currently and for the last many years as a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Fairborn.
She was employed with the US Government in civil service while her husband served in the US Air Force at bases in the Washington DC area, Germany, and retiring from NASIC at Wright-Patterson AFB. Linda also enjoyed her time while volunteering at the National Museum of the Air Force as well as the Airman’s Attic.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Michael Steinke. Survivors include her devoted husband of 57 years, USAF Lt. Col. (Ret.) James Dale Turinetti, III; two sons, US Army Brig. Gen. James D. Turinetti, IV and wife, Monique Kelsey stationed in Florida, Dr. Joel R. Turinetti and wife, Dr. Robin Turinetti also residing in Florida; a grandson, James D. Turinetti, V; three granddaughters, Trinity, Peyton, Sophie; a brother, Robert Steinke of Illinois; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday May 17, 2023 from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn. A funeral service will be held on Thursday May 18, 2023 at 10:30 A.M. at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 1240 S. Maple Ave., Fairborn, Pastor Keith Witte officiating. The family will also receive friends from 9:30 A.M. until the time of service at the church. Burial will be at 1:00 P.M. at the Dayton National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bethlehem Lutheran School Building Fund in Linda’s memory.
