Our beloved Mother, Mary Lou Pannebaker, 83, of Fairborn, Ohio, passed away May 1, 2022, surrounded by her family. Mary was born March 26, 1939, in Covington, Kentucky.
During her career, Mary worked as a sports writer for the Cincinnati Enquirer for which she was one of the first female sports writers in the area. She was a self-taught golfer, which she enjoyed for years. She loved breeding and raising her Arabian horses, along with gardening and reading. Mary also was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Fairborn, Ohio.
Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Jack Pannebaker, after spending many loving years together. She is also preceded in death by her parents, William and Eleanor Schmidt; brother, Jack Schmidt; and daughter, Jeannie Renata Youree.
Mary is survived by her son; Greg (Gina) Atha of Englewood, OH; Laura (Jerry) Caler of Bozeman, Montana; Cameron (Shelly) Youree of Hookstown, PA; Tara Elise Anderson of Georgetown, PA; Vallerie (Ed) Lloyd of Louisville, KY; Matt (Cathy) Pannebaker of Delaware, OH; grandchildren, Ashely, Leah, Sarah, Erin, Joshua, Matthew, Laura, Lance, Ross, Samuel, Jonathan, Matthew, as well as twelve great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at 10:00 AM May 20, 2022. Following will by a Celebration of Life at 11:00 AM. at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 1240 S. Maple Ave, Fairborn, Pastor Keith Witte, officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that contributions be made to the National Kidney Foundation or the Wounded Warrior Project.\
