Mary Ann Shope

Mary Ann Shope, age 88 of Fairborn passed away Wednesday July 5, 2021.  She was born July 7, 1932 in Clifton, the daughter of the late Everett and Virginia (Stringfellow) Hopkins.  Mary enjoyed reading, bird watching, and listening to country music.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James; son, Timothy; and four sisters, Anna Mae Boles, Dorothy Gohl, Louise Jones, Elma Straley.  She is survived by two children, James Anthony (Lori) Shope, Mary Teresa (Craig) Lamarche; two grandsons, Dylan, Drake; sisters, Janice (Joe) Staggs, Virginia (Virgil) Ferguson.  A funeral service will be held on Friday July 9, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, Deacon Max Roadruck officiating.   The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service.  Burial will follow at the Clifton-Union Cemetery.
