Nella Jean Watkins

Nella Jean Watkins, age 88 of Fairborn, passed away Thursday November 12, 2020.  She was born May 6, 1932 in Morgan Co., Kentucky, the daughter of the late Ernie and Mattie (Easterling) Peyton.  Nella Jean was employed at Wright-Patterson AFB as a secretary and receptionist, retiring after 41 years of service.  She was a longtime member of Byron Church; and she was an avid vegetable and flower gardener and loved being outdoors.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Edith Gay Murphy; and five brothers, Clyde, Vernon, Harold, Darold, and Larry Peyton.  She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Vernon Watkins; as well as nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends.  A funeral service will be held on Friday November 13, 2020 at 12:00 noon at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, Pastor H. Wesley Barnhill officiating.  The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service at the funeral home.  Entombment will follow at the Byron Cemetery Mausoleum.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Crossroads Hospice.
