RICHARD LEE HAWKINS

 

Richard was born on February 26, 1942  in Salem, West Virginia.  He was the son of James T. Hawkins Sr. and Bertha E. Dennison.  Richard graduated from Bristol High School in June 1961.

On July 6, 1975, Richard Hawkins married Sallie Redwine and lived a good life. 

Richard served his country in the U.S. Army National Guard serving 6 years. He continue his education, (security), computer programming, enjoy music especially Elvis, and a good cup of coffee, He loved to attend car shows, and golfing to the fact he and Sallie went to Dublin, Ireland. 

On August 7, 2020 Richard took wings and flew to his heavenly home to join His heavenly Father and Sallie his wife.  

Richard was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.  He is preceded in death by wife Sallie M. Hawkins and son-in-law, Edward J. Smith.

Richard leaves to cherish his memories, three daughters Glenda L. Redwine-Gilyot  (Leo), Evelyn Alexander-Wise (John), Helen Redwine-Smith, and  a son Claude Redwine, Jr. (Lynette). Three grandsons Andrew L. Alexander, Jr. (Sherry); Brian Alexander, Claudell and granddaughter Demenia; great grandchildren Katherine Lee-Ann Alexander, Elizabeth Alexander, Victoria Alexander, Andrew L. Alexander III, Justin and Noah.  A host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, cousins and friends.

An angel now sits on the right side of God as we bid Richard not good-bye but farewell until we meet again.

A private burial service will be held by the family at Woodland Cemetery.
