Rolland J. "Ron" Laughman

Rolland J. “Ron” Laughman, age 81 of Tipp City, passed away Friday June 24, 2022 at the Hospice of Miami County.  He was born August 8, 1940 in Covington, OH, the son of the late Frank and Josephine (Juday) Laughman.  Ron was employed with Chrysler, retiring in 1993 after 31 years of service. He attended the Church of God, where he loved to sing; and he was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and motorcycling.  Ron also was a devoted sports fan and enjoyed watching various games when time allowed. Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Birdie; two children, Susan (Frank) Basting and Michael (Sherry) Laughman, all of Columbus; three grandchildren, Judy, Zachary (Lauryn), Meghan (Steven); a great-grandson, Theodore; four sisters, Karol Kitchen, Janice Wertz, Sonia Dermis, Audrey (Jack) Caudill; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other extended family, and friends.  A funeral service will be held on Tuesday June 28, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn.  The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until the time of services. Entombment will follow at the Byron Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Miami County -or- the Alzheimer’s Association.
