Sylvia K. Sturgill

Sylvia K. Sturgill, age 75 of Fairborn, passed away Wednesday January 23, 2019.  She was born August 27, 1943 in Dongola, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Bert and Katherine (Wyatt) Banks.  Sylvia was a longtime member of Maple Heights Baptist Church; and she enjoyed gardening; fishing; and spending time with her family.  In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by a son, Tim Sturgill; brother, James “Jimmy” Banks; daughter-in-law, Barb Sturgill; and a great-grandson, Samuel Baugh.  Sylvia is survived by her husband of 59 years, Ercell; three children, Charles (Andrea) Sturgill, Kathy (Tim) Moody, Renee (Anthony) Boyer; 8 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Jewell (Bob) Day; brother, David (Millie) Banks; as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family.  A funeral service will be held on Tuesday January 29, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. in the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, Pastor Chris Tannreuther officiating.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until the time of service.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Maple Heights Baptist Church, Fairborn.
