USAF CMSgt. (Ret.) Bill L. Richard, age 82 of Fairborn, passed away Monday June 5, 2023. He was born October 10, 1940 in New Guilford, Ohio, the son of the late Paul and Flora (Hagans) Richard.
Bill served his country first in the US Army and then in the US Air Force in communications, retiring at the rank of Chief Master Sergeant. He remained active in many veteran organizations, including the Air Force Sergeants Assoc., the Air Force Chiefs Group, and the Miami Valley Military Affairs Assoc. After retiring from the Air Force, Bill was a realtor in the area for many years and was a past president and board member of the Fairborn Area Chamber of Commerce.
Photography was a hobby to the max for Bill and he donated countless hours of taking pictures, editing, plus the supplies for developing, printing, and distributing photos for the various events and organizations that he was involved with. His legacy will live on in the memories he captured through the lens of his camera.
Above all else was his love and dedication for his family and he was the happiest when they all gathered together. Yes! There are many family photos! He was so proud of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and cherished being their “Poppy”.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the wonderful caregivers that have assisted them over the past 4 years,
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his twin brother, Bobby; and a brother, David.
