William J. "Bill" Nelson

William J. “Bill” Nelson, age 72 of Miamisburg, formerly of Beavercreek, passed away March 17, 2020.  He was born March 16, 1948 in Dayton, the son of the late William and Lelah (Robbins) Nelson.  Bill was a longtime member of the Church of the Nazarene; he enjoyed fishing, camping, and short-term mission trips.  Throughout his life he continued to be a mentor to others, especially those in the financial field.  He graduated high school from Greenon High School in Springfield, Ohio where he met his wife of 50 years, Phyllis Sharon (Wright) Nelson.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Nelson; great-grandmother, Lydia Shellabarger; two grandmothers, Evelyn Seifert and Grace Robbins.  Bill is survived by his wife, Phyllis; children, Eric Elewokor (Elizabeth), Carrie Alydia Nelson, Jonathan (Mallory) Nelson; six grandchildren, Erica Elewokor, Parker Nelson, Edra Elewokor, Cooper Nelson, Adley Grace Nelson, Carylynn Nelson; a brother, Raymond (Rhonda) Nelson; a sister, Rilla (Tom) Fogle; as well as numerous nephews, nieces and extended family.  Private burial will be held by the family.  A celebration of life will be held at a later date.  If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Springdale Church of the Nazarene Elementary Department.
